Another couple trips in the books and we are still making updates to our van. I’m feeling pretty good about where we are with the build, we’ll be putting on some miles later in 2021.
Doing a bit of maintenance on the brake system and adding some alloy wheels and new Cooper 265/75/R16 tires.
Bumpers were big on my list. I found a company in Reno, NV, that builds bumpers. They are AmericanBackRoad and build some cool minimal bumpers. I wanted the front and rear to match so a rear bumper was designed to fit around my Aluminess tire rack and hitch.
The front and rear bumpers were purchased from www.americanbackroadco.com. I added the Warn 10,000 winch and lighting.
I thought about changing up the look of our van with a new paint job, but the 1998 white paint was still in mint condition. I came up with an idea that I put on paper first. I ended up doing a tan texter coat and vinyl graphics keeping with the Yosemite theme.
My daughter spent 20 summers in Yosemite Valley with us and her grandparents, she calls our van “Miss Yosemite”. Keeping with the theme, with her approval, this is what we came up with.
